FVKD Indica or Sativa? How FVKD Labels Its Strains, and How to Choose

Quick answer

FVKD Exotics labels 34 of its 76 strains: 13 sativa, 12 hybrid and 9 indica. The other 42, including every Live Rosin THCA Disposable, carry no label. Indica, sativa and hybrid are a traditional classification rather than a guarantee of effects, which vary from person to person, so use flavor, format and the batch COA alongside any label.

Is FVKD Exotics indica or sativa? Both, plus hybrid, and for more than half the range the brand gives no label at all. Of the 76 strains in our FVKD strain library, FVKD labels 13 as sativa, 12 as hybrid and 9 as indica, and leaves 42 unlabelled. So the answer to FVKD indica or sativa always comes down to the individual flavor. The labels themselves are a traditional way of sorting cannabis, not a promise of how a product will feel. Effects vary from person to person.

This guide explains where the three labels come from, shows exactly how FVKD applies them across its ten product lines, and gives you a practical way to choose a strain whether it carries a label or not. Every strain type and effect word below comes from FVKD’s own product information as listed at fvkdvapes.com.

What indica, sativa and hybrid actually mean

Indica, sativa and hybrid are traditional labels for grouping cannabis plants, and in stores they have become shorthand for the style of experience a strain is expected to give. They are a reasonable starting point, but they are not a precise forecast.

The names began as botany. Cannabis sativa was named in the mid-1700s, and Cannabis indica was described a few decades later from plants collected in India. Growers went on to use the words for plant shape: indica for shorter, bushier plants with broad leaves, sativa for taller plants with narrow leaves.

Retail culture then attached expected effects to the words. Indica came to suggest a heavier, more relaxed experience, sativa a brighter and more energetic one, and hybrid a cross that sits somewhere between the two. Most menus are still organized that way, including our indica, sativa and hybrid pages.

Why the labels are only a rough guide

Decades of crossbreeding mean most modern cultivars have mixed ancestry, so a genuinely pure indica or sativa is rare. Published genetic studies of retail cannabis have repeatedly found that the label on a strain does not reliably match its genetic makeup.

What shapes an experience is more complicated than plant shape. The cannabinoids in a product, its terpenes (the aromatic compounds behind smell and taste), the amount used, the format and the individual all play a part. That is why two people can describe the same strain in very different ways. Read any label, FVKD’s or anyone else’s, as a hint about style rather than a guarantee.

FVKD indica or sativa: how FVKD labels its strains

FVKD labels 34 of its 76 strains and leaves 42 unlabelled, so a strain type exists for about 45% of the flavors we carry. Where there is a label, sativa is the most common at 13 strains, followed by hybrid at 12 and indica at 9.

Counting products instead of strains gives a similar picture. Our FVKD catalog has 95 strain-based products (the brand hat and the syringe device have no strain). FVKD labels 15 of them sativa, 15 hybrid and 10 indica, and 55 have no type. The product totals are higher than the strain totals because some strains appear in more than one line.

The labels are not spread evenly. Some lines label nearly every flavor, and others label none at all:

Where the labels are

If shopping by strain type matters to you, three lines make it easy. All 9 Live Rosin Minis carry a label, as do 16 of the 17 live rosin dab syringes and 10 of the 12 Premium disposables. Between them, those three lines hold every indica-labelled FVKD product except a single Hash Holez pre-roll.

Where they aren’t

The Live Rosin THCA Disposables sit at the other extreme: none of the 15 carries a strain type. The same is true of all 6 Crumble THCP Disposables. Most flavors in the THCA Sugar, Live Rosin THC-P and pre-roll lines are unlabelled too, so flavor words and format are the better way in there.

Indica-labelled FVKD strains

FVKD labels 9 strains as indica, spread across the Premium, Live Rosin Mini, dab syringe and Hash Holez lines. Where FVKD adds effect words, most sit on the calm side (relaxing, calming, mellow), which fits the traditional idea of indica, though effects vary from person to person.

  • Blackberry Moonrocks, a Live Rosin Mini. FVKD’s words: euphoric, relaxing, calm.
  • Bubblegum, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: relaxing, soothing.
  • Cookies, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: calming, mellow, body.
  • Godfather, a Live Rosin Mini. No effect words listed.
  • Gods Gift, a Premium disposable. No effect words listed.
  • Huckleberry Kush, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: calming, body.
  • Ice Cream Cake, a Premium disposable. FVKD’s word: calming.
  • Northern Lights, a Premium disposable. No effect words listed.
  • Purple Punch, a Hash Holez pre-roll and a Live Rosin Mini. FVKD’s words: calm, soothing, mellow, chill.

The indica strains page shows the full set with current availability. For an indica label in a ready-to-use vape, the Purple Punch Live Rosin Mini comes in 1.5g and the Ice Cream Cake Premium disposable in 3.5g.

Sativa-labelled FVKD strains

Sativa is FVKD’s most-used label, applied to 13 strains, and 7 of them are live rosin dab syringes. FVKD’s effect words for this group lean toward uplifting and energetic descriptors, with one notable exception.

  • Berry Zkittlez, a Live Rosin Mini and a dab syringe. No effect words listed.
  • Blue Waffles, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: uplifting, energy.
  • Cherry Runtz, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: uplifting, energy.
  • Galactic Grapefruit, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: uplifting, energy, focused.
  • Gelonade, a Live Rosin Mini. No effect words listed.
  • Girl Scout Cookies, a Premium disposable. FVKD’s words: uplifting, euphoric.
  • Jet Fuel Gelato, a Premium disposable. FVKD’s words: energizing, focused.
  • Otterpop, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: uplifting, energy.
  • Pineapple Zkittlez, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: uplifting, energetic, energy.

  • Sunset Sherbet, a Premium disposable and a Live Rosin THC-P disposable. FVKD’s words: calm, balanced, uplifting.
  • Tangerine Dream, a Live Rosin Mini. FVKD’s words: euphoric, energizing.
  • Zours, a Live Rosin Mini. No effect words listed.

See them together on the sativa strains page. Tangerine Dream is one of four sativa-labelled Minis at 1.5g, and the Sunset Sherbet Live Rosin THC-P disposable is the only labelled flavor in either of FVKD’s THC-P disposable lines.

Hybrid-labelled FVKD strains

FVKD labels 12 strains as hybrid, and hybrid is the label FVKD pairs most often with the word balanced: 7 of the 8 strains FVKD calls balanced are hybrids. That lines up with the traditional picture of a hybrid as a middle ground.

  • Apple Fritter, a Premium disposable. FVKD’s words: uplifting, calm, balanced.
  • Blueberry Cookies, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: uplifting, calming, energy, balanced, body.
  • Cherry Maui Wowie, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: uplifting, relaxing, balanced.
  • Fruit Juice, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: uplifting, relaxed, energy, balanced.
  • Fruit Loot, a dab syringe. FVKD’s word: uplifting.
  • Gorilla Glue, a Premium disposable. FVKD’s word: relaxing.
  • Hella Jelly, a Premium disposable. FVKD’s words: uplifting, soothing.
  • Lemon, a dab syringe. FVKD’s word: uplifting.
  • Pink Gorilla, a Live Rosin Mini. FVKD’s words: balanced, body.
  • Sour Diesel, a Premium disposable and both Naked Holez pre-rolls. FVKD’s words: uplifting, energizing, focused.
  • Watermelon OG, a dab syringe. FVKD’s words: calm, mellow, balanced.
  • White Gummy, a Live Rosin Mini and a THCA Sugar disposable. FVKD’s words: chill, balanced.

Browse them on the hybrid strains page. Sour Diesel is the only labelled strain FVKD sells in three lines: the Premium disposable, the Naked Holez THCA pre-roll and the Naked Holez THCP pre-roll. It is also a good example of how loose these labels are: general cannabis references often describe Sour Diesel as sativa-leaning, while FVKD files it under hybrid.

What about FVKD strains with no label?

Forty-two of FVKD’s 76 strains have no indica, sativa or hybrid label, and we don’t invent one. Many of these names are familiar in cannabis culture and are classified in different ways elsewhere, but only FVKD can say how it classifies its own products.

The unlabelled group includes the whole Live Rosin THCA line, with flavors such as Wedding Cake and Mango Kush, every Crumble THCP flavor and most pre-rolls. Some still come with FVKD effect words: Jack Herer is described as uplifting, calm and energy, Skywalker OG as calm and body, and Pineapple Fruz as mellow, energy and chill.

Others, including Godfather OG, Pink Kush and Supernova, have neither a strain type nor effect words in FVKD’s listings. For those, shop on what you can check: format and size, cannabinoid, FVKD’s flavor words where they exist, and the batch lab report.

Strain labels vs FVKD's own effect words

A strain label and FVKD’s effect words usually point the same way, but not always, so it pays to read both. The exceptions are small and instructive.

  • Sunset Sherbet carries a sativa label, yet FVKD’s words for it are calm, balanced and uplifting.
  • Blackberry Moonrocks carries an indica label, and FVKD lists euphoric next to relaxing and calm.
  • Gorilla Glue is labelled hybrid, but the only effect word FVKD gives it is relaxing.
  • Jack Herer has no label at all, and FVKD describes it with both calm and energy.

The lesson is that FVKD’s words are short descriptors of style, not measurements. Uplifting is the effect word FVKD uses most, on 20 strains, followed by energy on 15 and calm on 14. None of these words says anything about strength, and the amount you use matters more than any label.

Which FVKD flavor is best? How to choose a strain

There is no single best FVKD flavor; the right choice depends on the taste you enjoy, the format you prefer and your experience level. A strain label is most useful as one filter among several, not the first question to ask.

  1. Pick a format. Choose between pre-filled disposables (3.5g, or 1.5g in the Minis), 2g x2 pre-rolls, and 3.5g live rosin dab syringes that need separate hardware.
  2. Pick a cannabinoid. Most FVKD lines use THCA. The Live Rosin THC-P, Crumble THCP and Naked Holez THCP lines use THC-P, a different cannabinoid; our THCA vs THC-P guide explains how they differ.
  3. Filter by label if you use one. The Minis, syringes and Premium disposables offer the most labelled choices of each type.
  4. Read FVKD’s flavor words. Sweet, citrus, tropical, earthy and diesel all appear; the FVKD flavor guide groups every strain by taste.
  5. Check the lab report. The COA for the batch shows the cannabinoid profile, which tells you more about a product than its label.
  6. Start small. Try a single unit before a 5-, 6- or 10-pack, and take a small amount first.

Starting points by strain type and format

  • Indica label, smaller size: Live Rosin Minis in Blackberry Moonrocks, Godfather or Purple Punch, from $15.99.
  • Sativa label, concentrate: seven dab syringes, including Galactic Grapefruit and Purple Lemonade.
  • Hybrid label, full-size vape: four Premium disposables, including Apple Fritter and Hella Jelly, from $35.99, plus White Gummy in the THCA Sugar line.
  • Hybrid label, pre-roll: Sour Diesel, in either the THCA or the THC-P Naked Holez line.
  • Label not important, live rosin in 3.5g: the 15 Live Rosin THCA Disposables, where you choose purely on flavor.

Using the strain-type pages on this site

Our indica, sativa and hybrid pages list every FVKD strain and product that carries each label, so you can compare formats for one type in a single view. Unlabelled strains don’t appear on those pages; find them in the strain library instead, where each strain page lists FVKD’s flavor and effect words and every product that uses it.

When a strain appears in more than one line, its strain page is the quickest way to compare them. Sunset Sherbet, for example, is sold as a THCA Premium disposable and a THC-P live rosin disposable, and the sativa label is the same in both, but the line and the cannabinoid are not.

Still weighing extracts rather than strains? Live Rosin vs Sugar vs Premium covers FVKD’s disposable lines side by side, and Minis vs 3.5g helps with size.

Sources & lab results

The strain types, flavor words and effect words in this guide come from FVKD’s product information as listed in the fvkdvapes.com catalog, and the counts reflect the range we carry at the time of writing. FVKD can update a listing at any time, so the product page is always the final word on a label.

A strain label is not something a lab measures, so you won’t find indica or sativa on a certificate of analysis (COA), the lab report for a production batch. What a COA does show is the cannabinoid profile, including THCA, THC-P where relevant and delta-9 THC, along with any contaminant screening. FVKD publishes lab results for its products; find them on our FVKD lab results and COA page or through the link on each product page. Questions about a specific strain? FAQ

Questions, answered

Is FVKD indica or sativa?

FVKD makes all three, and many of its flavors carry no label at all. Of the 76 strains we list, FVKD labels 13 as sativa, 12 as hybrid and 9 as indica, while 42 have no strain type. Each product page shows FVKD's label where one exists. The labels are a traditional classification, and effects vary from person to person.

How many FVKD strains are indica?

FVKD labels 9 strains as indica: Blackberry Moonrocks, Bubblegum, Cookies, Godfather, Gods Gift, Huckleberry Kush, Ice Cream Cake, Northern Lights and Purple Punch. They are sold as Live Rosin Minis, Premium disposables, live rosin dab syringes and one Hash Holez pre-roll. The indica page lists them all with current availability.

Which FVKD line has the most sativa options?

The live rosin dab syringes, with 7 sativa-labelled flavors out of 17, including Galactic Grapefruit, Purple Lemonade and Pineapple Zkittlez. The Live Rosin Minis follow with 4 sativa flavors, and the Premium disposables have 3. If you prefer a pre-filled vape over a syringe, the Minis and Premium lines are the places to look. See the sativa page.

Why doesn't FVKD list a strain type for some flavors?

FVKD doesn't give a type for 42 of its 76 strains, including every Live Rosin THCA Disposable and every Crumble THCP flavor. We show only the labels FVKD provides and don't add our own. For an unlabelled strain, decide using FVKD's flavor and effect words, the format and size, and the COA for the batch.

Is a hybrid a mix of indica and sativa?

Traditionally, yes. Hybrid describes a cross between indica and sativa plants, and in stores it signals a middle-ground style. In practice, most modern cultivars have mixed ancestry. FVKD labels 12 strains as hybrid, and 7 of the 8 strains FVKD describes as balanced carry that label. Effects vary from person to person.

Does indica always mean relaxing and sativa energizing?

No. Those associations are retail shorthand, and published genetic research has found that strain labels don't reliably match a plant's makeup. Cannabinoids, terpenes, amount, format and the individual all shape the experience. Even FVKD's own descriptors don't split neatly: it labels Sunset Sherbet a sativa but describes it as calm, balanced and uplifting.

Which FVKD flavor is best?

There isn't one best flavor; it comes down to taste, format and cannabinoid. Start by choosing between disposables, pre-rolls and syringes, then between THCA and THC-P, and then narrow the list with FVKD's flavor words and strain label. Our FVKD flavor guide groups every strain by taste to make shortlisting easier.
